Experience the beauty, serenity and tranquility of Sri Lanka, from the comfort of your very own warm and welcoming home away from home at Serenity Lake Front Villa. A charming getaway in the suburbs of Colombo set amidst lush tropical foliage on the shore of the famed Bolgoda Lake, the largest fresh water lake in Sri Lanka.

The villa/bungalow is 8kms by boat to the estuary where the fresh water meets the majestic Indian Ocean. By road it is only 1.3 km to the only yacht club in Sri Lanka and 15 to 20 mins from the largest public beach in Colombo. Nature, bird watching, water sports, snorkelling and deep sea diving/fishing enthusiasts will not be disappointed by the rich biodiversity of the location and the array of activities available. We offer serenity, peace and tranquillity to our guests as an alternative or escape from the hustle, bustle and noise of Colombo, and yet we are close enough to enjoy what Colombo has to offer.

The villa consists of 4 rooms a common living and dining area, kitchen, an extensive lawn, an intimate pool (lap pool), car parking and butler service. While we have a connection to the electric grid we pride ourselves in being able to supply the compound with solar powered electricity and Hot water and water from a bore hole for the plants – an eco-friendly solution.

The historic city of Galle and the famous beaches in Mirisa are only 2 to 2.5 hours away from our Villa. Another famous beach area called Bentota is only 1hr 30mins from our villa.

The original Turtle Hatchery in Sri Lanka (Established in 1978) is only 15 mins from Bentota in a place called Kosgoda. There are only seven types of turtles in the world and five of them hatch their eggs on the Kosgoda beach.

Serenity Lake Front Villa is a Sri Lanka Tourism Development Authority approved bungalow.

The property is owned by Mr. J C E Alles , the Honorary Consul of The Republic of Rwanda in Sri Lanka. He is also a Hon Life Fellow of the Institute of Engineers Sri Lanka (IESL). Mr. Alles is a Tea Manufacture & Engineering Consultant and has been associated with the Tea Industry in Sri Lanka and Africa for over 50 years.
